History of Thondrarama Brahma Vihara Part III

On April 10th 1988, by the request of board of directors, the Venerable Tant Kyi Taung Sayadaw Bhaddanta SoMaBuddhi (Thaw Ma Bote Dhi) accepted to be a spiritual leader of the Progressive Buddhist Association and to spread the Buddha Dhamma and Sasana (Buddha Teaching) at Thondrarama Brahma Vihara.

The Biography of Mt. Tant Kyi Sayadaw

Sayadaw was born on Friday, the first day of Thadin-Gyut (Burmese Calendar year) 1297 (September 27th 1935 A.D.) from the parent U Kyaw Khine and Daw Saw Khin at Hlae Kyaung Pauk Village in Mae Zali Pin Kone group, Pakokku City, Magwe Division, Burma. At the age of ten, he was ordained as a novice "Ko-Yin" from Sayadaw U Narada. At the age of twenty, he was ordained to be a monk from Thaung Gyi Kone Sayadaw.

As a monk, he was studying ten years on "Nikaya Tha-Mu-Dayar-Gyi" at Pakokku and Mandalay. And then he renounced and went to the forest.
